宇野刷毛ブラシ製作所は、耐久性があり機能的なブラシを100年間手作りしてきました。彼らの作るブラシは、機能によって異なる動物の毛を用い、基本的にはものを手入れしたり、形を整えたりするものに使うものです。東京を拠点に活動するデザイナー、藤城成貴は靴と洋服のためのブラシを作るにあたって、道具としての個性を保ちたいと考えました。仔細に考察することで、彼はハンドルの最適化にフォーカス。靴用ブラシは、特別に長いハンドルが特徴です。わたしたちは夜は特に何も気にかけず靴を脱ぎ、朝や急いでいる時にかぎって靴が汚れていることに気づきがちです。そんな時にこのブラシは、靴を履いたままでもブラシをかけることができとても便利です。また、玄関口の壁にかけておけるフックが付いているのも特徴です。いつも手の届くところにある、そんなプロダクトです。
Uno Brush has been making durable, functional brushes by hand for 100 years. These brushes use different animal hair depending on their specific function and are essentially tools to take care of things and keep them in good shape. Tokyo based designer Shigeki Fujishiro wanted to preserve the tool character when designing this shoe and clothes brush. He focused on the optimisation of the handling through close observation. The shoe brush features an exceptionally long handle that allows to brush the shoes standing upright, while wearing the shoes. Often we take the shoes off carelessly in the evening and only when we wear them in the morning and are in a hurry, we notice that they are dusty. This is when this brush comes in handy. It also features a hook to hang in on the wall in the entrance, so it is always close at hand.
