1977 年生まれ、スイス・チューリッヒ出身。アート、マスコミュニケーション及び日本語 を横断的に学んだ後、イタリア・ミラノとスイス・ローザンヌにてインダストリアルデザイ ンを専攻し、ECAL（ローザンヌ美術大学 ) を卒業。チューリッヒにて、プロダクトデザイン とインテリアコーディネートの分野において様々なプロジェクトに従事し、2008年に日本 へ移住。 その後、大阪でアソシエイトデザイナー兼デザインディレクターとして柳原照弘 主催のデザインスタジオに参加。2013年に京都の伝統的な町屋を拠点としGlaettli Design Direction を設立し KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD のクリエイティブディレクターに就任。 2016 年には拠点を東京に移す。国内外のメーカーやブランドへのクリエイティブディレク ション、デザインコンサルティング、デザインマネジメントを行う。主なクライアントに墨田区、カリモク家具、2016/ （佐賀県）、HAY、A-Net （Zucca）、  など。

After interdisciplinary studies of art, mass communication and Japanese language in Zurich, David Glaettli was trained in industrial design in Milan, Italy and Lausanne, Switzerland where he graduated from ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne).
He worked in the fields of product and interior design in Zurich, before moving to Japan in 2008. In Osaka he joined the design studio of Teruhiro Yanagihara as associate designer and design director. In 2013, he founded his studio Glaettli Design Direction in Kyoto.
Glaettli Design Direction specialises in creative direction, design consulting and design management for Japanese and international manufacturers, brands and institutions, such as Sumida City (Tokyo), Karimoku Furniture, 2016 Corp./Saga Prefecture, A-Net (ZUCCA), HAY, among others. David Glaettli is appointed creative director of the furniture brand Karimoku New Standard.
Since July 2016, Glaettli Design Direction Ltd. is based in Tokyo.
